TCDC/ECDC NETWORK IN CHINA |

TCDC is a kind of technological and economic cooperation among
developing countries organized and carried out by UNDP. The
Chinese Government attaches great importance to TCDC, regarding
it as the major measure for promoting international economic
and technological exchanges and providing support for the
economic development of the countries of the Third World.
So far, with cooperation with UNDP, the Chinese Government
has set up more than 20 regional centers to undertake the
TCDC tasks in China. On this basis, the TCDC Network in China
has been built in 1995, which including agriculture, industry,
forestry, information industry, environmental protection,
energy sources, trade and biological products and food as
its technological scope. TCDC Network in China is under the
leading of China International Center for Economic and Technical
Exchanges.
In this 21st Century, along with acceleration of global economic
integration, TCDC has shifted from its technological cooperation
to an all-round technological, economic and trade cooperation.
I.
Function of Network:
1. Management-being responsible for all kinds of activities
of TCDC of China within the whole world.
2. Coordination-All the activities relating to TCDC/ECDC should
be conducted through Network.
3. Representative-Network will contact institutions and departments
concerned of developing countries for cooperation on TCDC/ECDC
basis on behalf of more than twenty centers.
4. Promotion-Network will make great effort to do any work
to promote the development of TCDC/ECDC within and outside
China.
II.
Main Tasks:
Network will provide following services for promoting TCDC
development and transformation of TCDC into ECDC:
1. Technical advice/Engineering services
2. Expert/Consultant service
3. Individual/Group training
4. Trade promotion
5. Equipment supply
6. Information Exchanges
7. Holding Seminar/Symposium/workshop for other developing
countries
8. Receiving study/observation tour from other countries |
