the government of the Russian Federation
and UNDP will host the annual Tumen Programme intergovernmental meetings
in Vladivostok on 1-3 June 2002. there will be five meetings in total:
1. National Coordinators'Meeting:
In preparation for the Consultative Commission and Corrdination Committee
meetings, the National Coordinators formt eh Tumen Programme member countries
will discuss details related to policy issues and the workplan and ubdget
until the end of 2003.
2. Seminar on northeast Asia Economic Cooperation: Assessment and Possible
Future Directions
3. Meeting of the Tumen River Area Development Coordination Committee:
Vice Ministers from China, DPRK and Russia will discuss coordination of
economic development in the Tumen River Area.
4. Meeting of the Council of Eminent Persons:
Eminent persons for the Tumen Programme member countries will meet as
a group for the first time to explore ways of supporting the Programme
and regional cooperation in northeast Asia.
5. Meeting of the Consultative Commission for the Development of the Tumen
River Economic Development Area and Northeast Asia:
Vice Ministers from China, DPRK, Mongolia, ROK and Russia will discuss
key policy issues related to multilateral cooperation in Northeast Asia.
