Tumen Update

The Tumen Programme website received a major facelift in the second half of 2001, and the number of visitors continues to grow. Currently, on average over 13000 pages are viewed per month.
The updated website has six main themes:
The Tumen Programme
An introduction to the programmed and its institutional framework. The text of two multilateral agreements signed by the member countries in 1995 and the Phase III Programme Document are available, as are contact details and information about partner organizations.
The Tumen Region
An introduction to the Tumen Region with individual pages about Yanbian Prefecture (China), the Rajin-Sonbong Economic and Trade Zone (DPRK), eastern Mongolia and Primorsky Territory (Russian Federation).
Focus Sectors
Background information and updates on the transport, investment, environment and tourism sectors. The investment pages contain information about he investment environment in the Tumen Region and data on foreign investment to date, as well as useful contact details. The tourism pages also contain contact information, and data on international visitors to the region. Energy and telecommunications will soon feature.
Projects
Project profiles for which funding is sought, as well as information about ongoing and completed projects.
News & Events
Information about upcoming and recent events.
Publications & Presentations
Text of speeches and presentations made by local and central government officials, private sector representatives and many others at Tumen and Northeast Asia conferences over the last three years. There is also a list of the publications available form the Tumen Secretariat.
