Industrial Development and Strain Innovation of Edible Fungi
Lin Yanquan devotes himself to research and technological development of edible (medicinal) fungi. He has done effective and massive research on varieties breeding, commercial cultivation, physiology and biochemistry, utilization of metabolites, deep processing and standardization.
With considerable experience, he has made a great contribution to Fujian's edible fungi sector. He has undertaken and participated in over 30 research projects at national and provincial levels. His achievements from projects were appraised to be internationally or nationally advanced. He received 6 awards of Fujian provincial scientific and technological achievement and 2 awards of China Edible Fungi Association for his research results. He holds 6 invention patents and bred 2 new varieties that were appraised provincially. He undertook and participated in making of 6 provincial and local standards on edible fungi. He specializes in research of S. latifolia, a precious fungus. Having solved the problems in cultivation of S. latifolia, he bred its first fruit body in China, which made China the third one in the world to cultivate the fungus. He materialized its commercial cultivation that is expected to be a growth point of edible fungi sector.
Lin was a co-writer of 5 related books that has been published, and has published 70 more papers on related journals.
